Hi there,

Welcome to the Foundation & Friends August monthly round-up email.

At the City & Guilds Foundation we are all about connecting our diverse networks and supporting organisations to achieve maximum impact.

The monthly round-up is our informal way to share community news, stories and exciting opportunities that we can all get involved in. We believe that communication and active engagement are key to the success of any community so share your news and updates with us.

As we prepare to bid farewell to the sunny-ish days of summer here in the UK, let’s take a moment to reflect on some exciting developments that have taken place over the last month. From new milestones to impactful projects – here's a snapshot of what’s been happening

Get involved: Upcoming Events 🗓️

We’re excited to be hosting a number of events, both virtual and in-person starting this autumn. Based off the feedback from you all – we have put together a number of events that will target and cater to our entire Foundation Collective. 😊

This in-person event is targeting employers and charities.

Sign up here for the Understanding Social Impact Footprint in-person event happening on Wednesday 4 October 2023. More information to follow.

Make a pledge: Carbon Literacy ♻️

At City & Guilds, we are committed to net zero. Our ambition is to reduce our carbon emissions by at least 50% before 2030 and develop environmentally responsible operations to achieve net zero by 2040 or sooner if we can.

Join our initiative, by committing to small carbon reductions changes in your life that will collectively make a significant impact. Pledge to take our “Going Green: Small Steps for Big Impact” and earn a digital badge as proof of your dedication to our planet. Share Ideas: Charity Initiative 🔊

Commonweal Housing is offering funding to frontline organisations across the UK to test new and innovative housing-based solutions to address injustices within the criminal justice system.

Through their Call for New Ideas partnership programme, they're inviting not-for-profit organisations to apply for funding between £5,000-10,000 to conduct a short-term feasibility study to evaluate a housing and support model tackling issues facing vulnerable individuals who have come into contact with the criminal justice system. In case you missed it: Princess Royal Training Award announcement 👑

Now in its eighth year, The Princess Royal Training Awards continue to honour organisations showing exceptional commitment to learning and development. As skills shortages rise and job vacancies increase, engaging learning programmes for growing and retaining talent have become more crucial than ever before.
