Hi Foundation friend,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am thrilled to introduce our new Foundation and Friends Monthly Round-Up email.

At the City & Guilds Foundation we are all about connecting our diverse networks and supporting organisations to achieve maximum impact.

We know however, connecting communities and organisations is not always easy and there is not always a one size fits all solution. Over the past 18 months we have trialed different things, including our virtual platform, and based on various bits of feedback – not least the way in which we find ourselves working post pandemic – we have decided to trial a monthly round up email to our networks – with this being the first one!

We will still retain our quarterly newsletter, but this is a bit more of an informal way to share any upcoming stories or community generated content and exciting opportunities that we can all get involved in. We believe that communication and active engagement are key to the success of any community so encourage you to engage and share your news and updates with us.

As we dive into the heart of (a rainy) summer in the UK, here’s a roundup of things that have recently happened or are coming up that might be of interest to you:

Princess Royal Training Awards (PRTAs)πŸ‘‘

  • The award recommendations have been submitted to Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal, for her approval. And this year’s recipients will be announced on her birthday on 15 August. Look out for the announcement for the class of 2023 which will be across our City & Guilds social media channels.

New role, new ideas πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘

To formally introduce myself, my name is Natasha Kalinga and I have officially joined the team as the new Relationships and Communities Executive. My pronouns are she/her and some of my strengths include positivity, achievement, making stuff happen and learning.

In this role I’ll be making sure we put on a good calendar of events for our networks to learn, connect and support one another. I welcome any ideas and suggestions you might have for getting together and sharing – so please do reach out.

Thank you for taking the time to engage with this round up. Together we are making a difference and bringing positive change to the lives of many who are passionate about skills development. If you have an upcoming announcement or event you would like to share with our networks, feel free to let me know by replying to this email or contacting me on natasha.kalinga@cityandguilds.com.

Take care,

Natasha
